Sorry I should have said - go short at an attempt of a gap fill, not after the gap has filled.

But you answered my questions within the post anyway.

Cheers :)

On this support i would not go long(if im understanding you correctly(31.79)) as the trend is down.
with regards to going short on the gap fill....not certain what you mean????go long on that gap fill ..yes at 25.04 or 23.91

Here is a chart of this company with some of the major gaps it pruduced. Most of them got filled at some tome.
far away view

so looking at the gaps from the past it seems likely that at some point it may attempt 23.91 gap fill.
which should be a good time to go long as theres a few supports close together

So, if this was spotted a day or 2 before it touched this support, would you have personally went long at first attempt with a tightish stop - then if it did break support, wait for a retest and go short on the gap fill?

I find that most big gaps got a habit of eventually getting filled. It could take years but generally do get filled. Thats why i love trading the gaps ;)
But you should not just short or go long on a share because its got a big gap.
one of my favourite trades is based on the gap fill.Going long or short on the gap fill itself.

Have you ever seen a gap this big not close before?

Genuine question - my gap knowledge isn't great.
