I’ve bought a load of defensive funds and bonds recently
Like......Troy Trojan, which is a defensive fund......Jupiter strategic bonds....and a few others...

do you think going into gold will help mitigate the shock waves?

I’ve been on the sidelines for months now as been waiting for the bear market....
To be ohnest, corona virus is basically going to kill the markets big time world wide as it’s likely to spread fast in the west as we don’t have a government that could shut down the country like in China.
The impact is going to be huge....We run a business that gets a lot of our products from China, and they have been shut since beginning of January and still they are shut...my point being, ,,most businesses get there products from China, and that itself will have a massive impact on bottom line figures over the next few months.... This year in my opinion will be the worst bear market we have seen due to corona virus... The impact for most companies is going to be bad.....I suspect the figures on there bottom line will start to show later on in the year.
Go defensive or sit on the sidelines until things are clear.
The markets are due a correction any how as we have had the strongest bull market ever.....

Stay away form the dow...and all indices.
Having said that there was a guy i knew who used to beat IG.... used to win and bank profits at the end of every period....
Showed me a interesting way of trading the ftse...(only ftse, no other indices).
I will post his strategy later if possible...quite interesting...

Anyway this Coronavirus seems to have shaken up these markets...anyone think this could be the cause of a major stock market crash??

Hope you're good too.

It has been sporadic at best, which is completely understandable.

I'm on the sidelines now, but still thinking about trading gold - missed out on a tasty rally mind you!

made a decent profit on KAZ and BAE, but got burned trading the dow (who hasn't, right?).

Right now, more than corona virus, I'd like to see how this government does (i have my evidence / fact based views, but will leave it there), before deciding on "risk".

Still watching the markets (and this site!)
