Hi Remo,

Thanks for your response. I note since 2012 Oracle have developed java for the mac and was wondering if this had made matters any easier?

Hi diver
They can have problems related to charting softwares. That need to be loaded on to the mac. Most charting softwares are done for windows based computing so if you were to use a charting software then it's best to use a windows computer.
If your using a charting software that works of a browser then it's fine.
I have a mac and windows computer. Macs are faster and better but when it comes to charting then I would only use a windows computer.
Updata and metastock would only work on windows computer . The way around this is to use a virtual desktop on a mac which simulates a windows on the macs . I use a software called fusion for the mac to enable me to run windows on the mac then it's possible to run windows only program's on the mac.
Macs are getting more popular nowadays but on the software side you are limited. Macs are great for power Hungary program's like video editing. Most professional editors will only use a mac for this. Macs are way faster than pc.
Hope this is of help to you....

I'm considering buying a mac and was wondering if they present a problem with software - especially charting. If anyone has any experience of using one I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
