Q3 2026 results
Published 21 Oct 2026. Sales rose 26% to $64.6bn as adverts were seen more and cost more. Profit from running the business fell 37% because of a $9.9bn charge to settle US state lawsuits over teenagers’ mental health. Net profit still rose, because a year ago Meta paid a large one-off tax charge. Spending on AI data centres nearly doubled.
In brief
- Sales of $64.6bn, up 26%. Adverts shown rose 10% and the average price per advert rose 14%.
- A $9.9bn charge for the August 2026 settlement with 52 US state attorneys general over teen mental health. Without it, operating profit would have been $22.9bn.
- Net profit of $9.9bn, up from $2.7bn, when a large tax charge cut profit.
- Reality Labs lost $4.1bn on sales of $443m.
- Spending on data centres and equipment was $34.9bn. Meta expects $135bn to $145bn for 2026.
- No shares bought back this quarter. Dividends of $1.36bn.
- 3.64 billion people used at least one of its apps each day in September.
- Meta’s forecast for October to December: sales of $73bn to $76bn.
