Frankfurt and New York are official exchange hours for Xetra and NYSE shares, including the holidays and early closes below. Sydney, Tokyo and London are the usual FX session times traders use. FX trades round the clock on weekdays, so these are conventions, and they don't allow for local public holidays.

CME rows are for E-mini S&P 500 futures on CME Globex, in US Central time at source. Other CME products can differ, and CME usually finalises holiday hours about two weeks ahead. Xetra hours for 30 Dec 2026 haven't been published yet.
Why it matters
- The London–New York overlap is usually the busiest part of the day for FX, indices and gold.
- US holidays: when NYSE is shut, US index CFDs often trade thinly or on shortened hours. Check your broker's notice.
- Clock changes: the UK and US switch on different dates, so for a few weeks a year New York opens an hour earlier in UK time.
Big data releases matter as much as the clock: see the economic calendar risk flags.
