What is Liquidity?

Liquidity describes how easily you can buy or sell an asset without significantly affecting its price. Highly liquid stocks, such as large blue-chip companies, have tight spreads and high volume. Illiquid stocks can be hard to sell quickly and may have wide bid-ask spreads.
