Heres the 1 hour trading system for the month of June.
If people have been following this since i first started to put them up then they would be up overall. B) Just look back through the charts that ive posted every month.
This system does require discipline but overall seems to have more wins than losses.
Very simple system but requires waiting for the first hour to finish and the hardest part is doing this every day at the same time....Can get boring but it does work over the long term.
Ill still put the charts up every month so as you can see how its doing. Its a shame i cant calculate exactly how well its done with regards to points but that would take ages to do hence why ive not bothered.
You can use this system on currency as well and use a diffent time to enter.Like the usdgbp...Certain times it performs better than other times...for example from 1pm-2pm using the same rules during this time. The reason this time may be good is due to all the news being released around this time.
try experimenting with this. B) B)

March was very profitable.
Since the launch of chartsview ive been plotting the 1 hour trading so people can get an idea for themselves.

rough estimates since the start of chartsview.(based on the posted charts below)

Wins 58
Lossess 40
Evens 14

Ill keep doing this for the whole year so keep an eye out for the monthly records.
Its best to see how this performs over the whole year and not just the short term.
This was all based on not being greedy ;) ;) if you were greedy then the points wise it could have been a lot more

Below is the 1 hour day trading wins and losses for the month of dec.
As can be seen this month has been overall down. This is due to the fact that the ftse has been near a major resistance level for most of it. This system is pretty good as long as you adapt it to avoid trading when near major resistance and support levels.
Losing Month
8 Wins
14 Losses
0 Evens

Previous 2 months have been really profitable

This is the 1 hour system with wins and losses from october.
You should be able to tell how well its done. You should be able to see from the chart how this performs when not in a major support and resistance area.

November
wining month
17 Wins
3 Losses
2 Evens

This is a bigger picture. Look how the ftse is struggling to clear the major resistance.
This looks like its gonna start to go down .

Hi Remo, Definitely sticking to money management rules. Just acknowledging how easy it is for emotions and greed to get hold of a person and eventually lead to their downfall.

It's simple really. :)
Use the 2% rule. ;)
If your capital is £ 1000 then using 2% means the maximum you should lose is £20
Then you look at how many points are targeted and say it was 20 points then you would
bet £1 a point. If its 40 points then 50p.

This is very important.
Don't lose more than 2% on any given trade. I've showed you these methods so as you can win in the market and not
lose your shirt. Don't get over confident. I've been trading a long time now and have seen many people come and go.
What's worrying is that your considering a short cut.
If you wanted to raise the stakes then make certain you raise your capital to allow the 2% rule.
Do not trade more than 2% of your trading capital at any one time.

Most people that lose in the stock market have done so as they were betting more than 2%.
Take all the rogue traders out there that burst the banks. They were betting ridiculous amounts .
Think about it.

It's that simple. :P

Amo,

I've been doing it since the 19/11. It has done very well. Are you trading £1 per point?

I alter the amount per point by looking at the hourly chart.

I then go between £2-£5 depending on the short term trend.

;)

if you like systems then metastock has quite a few of them but there not cheap but you can try them for free i think. They actually tell you when to buy and when to sell. Theres no fun in that personally for me. :P
Thats why there so good. Its more than just a charting software thou. People don't relies that part about them.

Remo, is your chart that you did earlier today showing this system for the FTSE over the recent period an automatic scan or manual? I am just curious as if it can do things like that I really should be getting some decent software which I have been planning to for a while. I work full-time so end of day may be the best solution for price v my use, especially so as I expect to be having much more free time in a year from now.

Thanks

Hi viper
This is manually done by me.
I do like the idea of being automated .I may get that programmed by metastock. :) :) :)

This work quite well on the ftse due to less volitility. Its normally in a range from 15- 30 points in the first hour where as the dow can have a range from 50-100+ in the first hour so more likely to be in the trade longer so more chance of a bail out. For that reason ive only traded it on the ftse.
It should work on the dow as well thou but does need to be tested thoroughly.

Keep it to yourself.
Trading is not for every one.
If a gambler tries this then they may think they no best and try normal trading and get themselves wiped out.
This system requires discipline and is not for everyone. If you start to get too confident that can lead to the dark side.
The problems will come when you get a whole week of bad trades. then you will start to doubt the system.Thats when you have to be strong.

Thanks for this - I will give this a go once it gets out of the sideways trading. I feel like I am learning so much on here and want to say a big thanks to Remo and to everyone sharing their trades and tweaks on different systems. I have had two successful trades this week - it makes a big difference to confidence levels as well as trying new trading areas to try - I hope to look at forex at some point as it looks interesting too.

It does work.
This month has been mainly profitable.
from the chart below you can tell when it gets tricky... B) B) Sideways times
The chart is for the past 20 trading days.

When the trend is clearly defined its pretty much profitable but once it goes into that sideways move then you do get a few losses with it.
Dont get greedy ,keep to the same quantity ;) ;) ;)

I've been using this system for nearly 2 weeks now and am pleasantly surprised by the results. I've put a quick table together to show how I've done.

Day Opened Direction Opening Closing P/L
Thu 08/11/2012 SELL 5801 5782.5 18.5
Fri 09/11/2012 SELL 5759 5734 25
Mon 12/11/2012 BUY 5784 5769 -15
Tue 13/11/2012 BUY 5750 5780 30
Tue 13/11/2012 SELL 5719 5749 -30
Wed 14/11/2012 SELL 5748 5729 19
Wed 14/11/2012 BUY 5767 5748 -19
Thu 15/11/2012 SELL 5681 5662 19
Thu 15/11/2012 BUY 5705 5680 -25
Fri 16/11/2012 SELL 5667 5651 16
Mon 19/11/2012 BUY 5657 5670 13
Tue 20/11/2012 BUY 5729 5751 22
Wed 21/11/2012 BUY 5744 5755 11
Thu 22/11/2012 BUY 5780 5792 12

So Total profit is 96.5 points. On one of the days I broke the rules by closing 6 points to soon so really the profit should be more than 100 points. Considering it takes me less than 5 minutes a day using my mobile I couldn't be happier with the way its worked to date. Many Thanks Remo. If the performance continues this way then you will definitely be on my Christmas card list :)

Thanks
Amo

If you increase the entry by 2 points then you can increase the stop by 2 points as well from the original stop area so that you helps in reducing the false breakout.
Obviously the targets have to to be adjusted.

Hi guys
dont carry over yesterdays closing price
Its the first hours price action that counts but if the price is close to yesterdays closing low price(by a couple of pips) then worth considering. Most times i would totally disregard the previous days closing price.
Also you have to tweak the system to suit yourself. For instance i place my longs on breach of 2 pips past the high of the first hour and vice versa for a short. This is done to factor in the resistance and support factor. It helps in reducing the false breakouts.

Heres a chart of the first hour area for today. Its only 16 pips your after. if you include the 2 pips past the high

Like i said before i dont use this system that much as i find it too boring. I prefer trendline and supports and resistance trades and conventional trading. :P :P

I do find that this system wins more than it losses.
I hope you guys do a thorough research on this.

I've interrupted the system as including the prior days close but could be wrong as it's not a system I've used before!

"If the share gaps down on the following day then i would take the high just before the close as an entry level for the high of the first hour trading if prices carried on going down in the first hour."

Obviously the above would be reversed for today's action on the ftse.

Remo - what are your views on this?

Monkeyz,

Is that how you do it? I've been using 8-9 high, low = range.

I use:

8-9 high 5661.8,
8-9 low 5645.8, = 16 points range.

Quite a large range from Fridays close to the close of the first hour on the ftse. Could there be an opportunity to go long after 9am? Or would you prefer the short option bearing in mind the 54 point move?

Nice to hear others are in the same position.
