That said, I do have to ask, is it even worth it any more? I'm having doubts especially since there are so many more ways to try and build a nest egg, and ISAs need a serious overhaul.

Anyway, good luck regardless! B)

Hi Libero, the Tax-Free bit is the attraction for me but, if you know other ways to make a tax-free income I'd love to know about it ;)

Big thanks to all who replied. I will take a look at iWeb in the morning :)

iWeb is cool I think. Fairly easy trade plan execution and flat fees. I was with the share centre for a long time and a lot of it went on admin and all kind of fees- that's on top of the trading costs. So the moment I heard about iWeb- I didn't think twice.

It's all about what you want and how you want it.

Oops - I wrote a reply and then apparently clicked thank you!! So, I lost my message - but you got a thank you!! Haha!

Here goes - lets' see if I can write, and send, a reply more successfully this time (it's obviously too early to be doing this!)

I set sell orders as stop losses on my trades.

Costs depend upon the number of trades you do in a month (combined with all accounts you have with HL) so, less than 9 a month each trade incurs a charge of £11.95, between 10 & 19 the charge is £8.95 and over 20 the charge reduces to £5.95.

I hope that helps - here's their page on charges - I'm not on a commission!! Please shout if you have any other questions I might be able to answer.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Anne

Many thanks Annes Goal, Waverider and Remo. Do your providers allow stop-losses and what's the transaction costs please?

I've had my ISA with Hargreaves Lansdown for that last 4 years - all absolutely fine, easy to trade in it and the charges are modest.

If you have a specific question I'd gladly answer it (if I can!) if that would help?

Happy Saturday!!

Anne

Cheers Remo. I've also been recommended 'Best Invest', anyone heard of them?
