Good example of a first attempt trade, going short you would have made around 30 points but since then it has gone up higher. So it's important to only do this trade on the first attempt and not on the second or third.

Gapped down today and is down currently about 162 points.

They had issued a profit warning and a now a number of analysts have downgraded them.

this should be a free trade now.
stops should be at break even. If it goes back down to the trend line dont go long as the first attempt already worked and the area would have been weakened.

Remo, this looks very interesting indeed,. but I am very sorry to say I just don't 'get it' yet. Would it be possible for you to do one of your excellent and instructive videos on the power of gaps please ?

See how carnival bounced of the gap support perfectly this morning.
That was also right near the trend line as well so gave it added support.
Gaps are great to enter a trade by or short by depending on where it comes.

some people fade gaps as well.so if a share gaps down then they actually take long positions in anticipation of the gaps getting filled. This is normally associated with a system trading. some thing for people to do research on ;)

look at a close up of the chart below of the power of gaps.
