Hi T/F! I'm really well thanks - and hope that you, and yours, are too? Yes, I'm running, trying to make the most of my allotted daily outing!  These certainly are 'interesting times'  :woohoo:

As a demonstration of trading stocks, I took a punt on RR this morning - but also as a demonstration of NOT following the plan, instead of selling midway through the day, I bought more towards the end of the day   I now have to wait and see what tomorrow brings... clearly, I hope it will be positive :woohoo:

You're right though - we're in a down trend and buying opportunities - for me - do not constitute holding opportunities (despite what I've just said about RR   )

Stay well and thank you for your brilliant, inspirational posting :) :)

TF

You are being modest.

I am more :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was looking at stocks, indices make me go :pinch:

I'll keep watching, money still on the sidelines.

I notice the tech in America, is holding up really well.

thanks T/F.

I prefer to trade stocks - I have no experience of working with indices. I do agree with you about buying dips; while things are so chaotic it's a question of being able to spend the time observing behaviour so that buying and selling opportunities are taken - and taken quickly - which also implies a steely focus!!

I'm delighted that our numbers on this forum have increased recently and so many great posters have returned; it's a delight to read other's interpretations - those are learning opportunities in themselves for me! Normally I work full time and while I'm 'working from home' I have a little more time to dedicate to observation and trading...

We should continue to take stock as we progress through this period and while opportunities abound - this is a really exciting time - from a market perspective!

Keep well everyone - stay home!

Great idea....go for it guys....
Not going to learn much form me tbh.... :side: and anyway you guys know a lot more than i'll ever know!
Are you looking to trade indices or stocks?

For stocks i would keep a watch list of a small number of stocks that you like....may be an idea to wait for this bear phase to pass by...

Then it really is just a case of buying the dips imho...
Buy at support sell the resistance... ;)

really is easy money for bulls in during during bull markets...the current markets are actually hard to trade...

just my view  and wdik...

atb, wdik, dyor,
trendfriend :)

Right, since I have some free time  , haven't for years, I was going to put £100 in a pot and try day trading.

Very small amounts, 10p a point etc. ( If I need a bigger pot because of margin, I can, but I'm not risking it.) ( No positions overnight etc)

I have read through the "learn to trade" section and listened to Trendfriend, SMA20 etc's.

Does anybody trade daily for a living? I have an IFA, same office, but he just gets fund managers to buy shares, he doesn't actually do any trading.

I would love to learn, got the time, any teachers out there??

I thought this would benefit everybody.

I think we could all learn! The trouble is, I suspect that everyone has their own styles (times when they can trade etc...) I reckon?

Since I started working from home about 10 days ago? I started scalping - but also got into dangerous situations where I broke all the rules and held (widened the spread by 1000 points) - to get out unscathed and with me fish n' chips of course (thank you IG!) :woohoo:

The chatroom could be the best medium for live interactions, but where leaders / teachers are concerns (I'll quietly retreat to the back of the class)
