Hi Diver,

Sorry to hear about that mate.

FWIW I recently transferred my pension funds to what was SIPPDeal and is now called www.youinvest.co.uk

It's pretty basic but allows you to place stops and limit orders as you'd expect and their dealing fees are quite low at £4.95 a pop (it varies depending - DYOR etc).

I used to have funds with iii but withdrew them a long time ago as I had so many problems trying to buy/sell into stock which was available (I could see it on L2) but they simply couldn't/wouldn't place the trade.

Obviously there are others out there but I'm happy (so far) with youinvest.

Good luck in finding a suitable platform.

A word of warning for all those who may be considering placing SIPP or ISA funds with Best Invest. They do not allow stop losses, and they will not even accept a limit sell order at a price less than your purchase price. The result being, total exposure to a falling market!

I thought I had researched this company quite thoroughly before placing funds with them. They have won award after award. But they cannot even provide for the basics in trading. I'm ashamed to say I took it for granted a company of such apparent repute would be embarrassed not to provide for stop losses. Needless to say I am now in the market for an alternate provider. I have iii at the top of my list at the moment, but would take advice from anyone actively investing with other companies.

All contributions gratefully received.

Cheers,

Diver.
