sxx - daily.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...jAZnWcsoka7E6wdGQ%3D

This stock here looks good long term...but it's less clear if it's ready for a strong bullish run just yet...

The issue is the rsi....that failure to breakout despite the strong run...suggest this rally is b=not the real deal just yet...again LTH's will not care at all...

short term i think a dip down 27p is still possible here...

sxx - daily (chart from 12 mar 2018)

uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...brFbR3lHejZfBeJLY%3D

i thought this had a bull flag breakout on Fri....so i was looking to by to by some of these on Monday...
However a closer look at the charts showed the bearish rsi divergence.....which always makes it a stay away for me...so this is likely to come down.....and a dropped a touch today....maybe a tad more to at least 26.80p and if that fails to around 25p again...

thanks for doing that Paitech.... i was looking for this thread, i couldn't find it... :)

Anyway, i sold this just before the close today.....for a quick 6% or so profit......

Not normal for me.....but i'm being really selective atm...with what stocks i buy and i'm still reducing my holdings in my sharedealing account....

This time last year i was fully invested and very confident and comfortable....
atm...i'm a tad nervous about the main markets......and only about 30% invested and using rallies to to go more cash......

I think it maybe just me.....and anyway wdik.....but i do think these markets may have one more down leg to go.....anyway don't listen to me wdik.....

sxx -weekly.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...YLCq+pZP0vh8VOKZfso=

these are the potential levels for sxx....above 29.5/30p opens mid 30's....

bets case long term target 60p....

i will go long again here if we a retest of 25p(200 day ema line feature on the daily chart)
just trading in and out quickly, rather holding long term atm..... ;)

good luck,

I still hold these one, and what price would u get out on these ones? ta G

sxx - daily long term.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...tVtrD33ygfHSwS1e4%3D

trendline breakout a few days ago here....

sxx daily - close up.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...UtdKwxbJ5Mhn4nKcd0g=

these charts are from Friday....and this is doing higher highs.....after a long basing at around 22p.....and the break above the 200 day ema line should be the momentum trigger for decent gains imho.....i'm long here form this am...will add if we a retest of the 200 day ema at around 24.90.

stop below 21p for now.
lets see, hope this one goes better than the ukog trade!

This doesn't look great here at Sirius imvho.
I didn't buy this breakout, mainly because i had my hands full, but also because i didn't really fancy it tbh...but i was looking to free up some funds and buying a retest of 26p(if it happened).

As it turns out this failed at the 200 day ema line, and closed below all of the support/resistance levels, it managed to get above.

sxx - daily.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...yxMSms0RWCk/eh8l+O4=

This needs to get back above 26p quickly imvho....if it fails, then this has been a bull trap, and the second bull trap with one taking place in Sep, these type of bull traps are synonymous with stocks that have not finished a bear phase/run imvho.....

sxx-weekly
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...iCh6LuS8kjo1qc7ck%3D

The weekly here, and this chart is in hindsight in all honesty, but it shows a perfect trendline failure  i didn't think that would happen tbh.....
It also shows this is in a long term triangle, and failure to breakout, means a touch of the support trendline looks likely now imvho.... so sub 20p had become more likely, unless this can get back above 26p and the resistance trendline....

A couple of quick charts.

sxx - daily.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...W3afYS8vA94lhLgzs%3D

first possible signs of a end to the downtrend here, a few closes above teh 20 day ema line, but still below the trendline, the 50 day ema line, the daddy of them all the 200 day ema line.

The rsi looks encouraging, a break above June down trendline, and above the 50/100 positive marker.

Sometimes these moves get exhausted just testing the key level, so until no close above the 50 day line at 26.5p, no longs position imvho.

The weekly shows this falling wedge could just continue untill it goes sub 20p.

sxx daily.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...pJ2HFcWXXjcfBaaMjMs=

This is having real trouble at the 20 and 200 day ema lines, with both of those features acting like huge walls atm..... :pinch:

Needs a close above 26.9p now for further upside imho...

lets see, i still think sub 20p possible first....

Taxpayer backing for loan to Moors potash operator Sirius Minerals

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/taxpayer-back...s-minerals-jq6gcpqn0

Taxpayers are set to stand behind a large chunk of a £2.2bn loan for Britain's biggest-ever mine.

Sirius Minerals, which owns a giant potash deposit in North Yorkshire, is in talks with the Treasury to guarantee the loans it needs to complete its project.

Under the deal, the Treasury's infrastructure fund would underwrite a portion of the fundraising, in return for a fee. Last year Sirius secured $1.2bn (£900m) of investment to begin digging.

The company plans to raise £2.1bn of debt next year.

The mine is set to deliver nearly £4bn in dividends to local landowners over the coming decades, including the Queen and the North York Moors national park this year."

Hi Paitech,

Yes i think this should make its way lower, certainly i see no reason to have a long position here atm...

Off course its always the case, that bearish looking stocks, can turn around and become bullish, if we get some kind of positive news for instance....

In the case of sxx, this is a falling wedge, which is actually a bullish falling wedge, but you have to wait for a turn around before committing to a position....

I see no signs from the rsi, of a that happening atm....so patience is the key here....

each of the 3 lines, and the trendline, plus some horizontal resistance levels.....so quite a few resistance overhead to break between 25.5p and 27.5p.....

If i see anything i will try and post it here asap, as i'm looking to buy this as well....

sxx weekly.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...lRP4vNN6qhUV++yS4QU=

This is by no means a guarantee to move down, it actually ended up having a good day on friday.
If i was looking to go long here, purely from a trading perspective, and in terms of opening new position, i would eyeing a sub 20p entry, i think a reasonable possibility that will happen, but it could go the other way.....

The long term weekly shows this to be in a long term triangle, so a break above 30p(ish), would send this soaring upto the 50p area.

However a test of the main trendline could happen around 20p area, 200 day ema line on the weekly, but thats by no means a certainty....

I can't tell you to bank, or hold, but this does have much higher targets long term, as long that 18/20p holds......

good luck, atb, wdik, dyor,

Can see from the post below in July, the 200 day ema line was crucial here....and a move below could see sub 20p buying opportunity....

looking at today's chart.
sxx daily
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...bpI8DMDA20oSlvT20%3D

so in terms of a target, i think while below the 200 day ema line on the daily, a move to the 200 day ema line on the weekly chart, at around 20p area atm, looks to be the target, as that has historically been strong support for the stock

sxx weekly.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...LhEJ96tpZlFt+y63nvM=

a buy zone between the pink lines, around that 200 day l=ema line on the weekly imvho.

sxx daily. chart from 7 July)

uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...iqswTwIhtErFk2GoBAc=

This is still bullish while above the 200 day ema line. So that's the key here imho. ;)

Not in this atm, but a move again to that 200 day ema line at around 25p, looks good as a buying opp.

If however we get a move below that 200 day, and spend a couple of days below on eod closing basis, this could see this move to the main trendline which is sub 20p.

If that was to happen it is almost certainly a fill yer boots buying opp...

Broken major resistance at 28.6292, could be heading higher but another resistance is at 41.4881.

Does look bullish.

My comment was more with regard to this last weeks trading where volume seems low but the sp continues to rise,i suppose i just find the continued momentum somewhat peculiar.

The recent moves have been on heavy volume id say, with the very recent pullback and sideways movement on lighter volume.

It would be great to see heavy volume come in if this continues to move up. But most of all would not like to see any moving down on heavy volume and definitely not doing that whilst breaking the 200-day.

I agree wrt 200 day & would expect the break to be back tested, the recent move has been with relatively small volume so i'm going to answer your question with another & that is does the lack of volume matter?

Just a couple of couple of quick charts, with possible/potential trade set ups...

sxx, nice rally up, (chart form yesterday)

Really given the scale of the bear run here, a weekly close above the 200 day ema line is needed, without looking back to confirm a trend change...

so the level to watch 21.75p, if this is the real deal here....

This looks to be showing some strength atm.
double bottom, and rally above the 20 day ema line, which is always a good sign.

If it can get above the 50 day ema line and resistance at 20.25p, i may add some of these, as above 20.25p opens up a test of the 200 day ema line at 23p area.........

yes a further move down looks possible, the trendline is broken, but i'm not getting too bearish on this.

the weekly here, shows the 200 day ema line at about 18p, that support should hold.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...gaWORHJTz6EjJnjzs%3D

the daily shows a buliish falling wedge, and a breakout could well mean a decent rebound.
watch the rsi, it's refusing to make a new low, and at around 25/100 it needs to bounce back at soem point.

sxx daily.

Trend, there's my weekly. 18.9 hit and as I type I'm seeing 18.6.

Risk has increased that the next trendline is the next target. I have that below 15.

Yep, it's around that 19.5/19p area. rising daily (or weekly on a weekly chart).

I think it should hold imvho, but you never know, so a stop below 19p should do the trick.

If you look at the weekly chart, it suggests a possible 18.9 (although price changes in blocks of 0.25 by the looks of things)and if that were to fail, then it opens up a possibility just below 15p, so still worth using stops in case the daily case doesn't pan out.

Still holding these, in hindsight tight stops would have been a very good idea

I have added some more here, as it's bang on the trendline at 19.75p.
close below that trendline could well see this sold off some more, and the rsi does not look great tbh!

lets see, but a good place to buy in terms of r/r at around this 20p imvho. stop below 19p.

Can only trade the chart in front of you, and it's subject to news off course.
Looks some funding news on this today, which will result in dilution for existing holders :pinch:

Looking at the technicals support at 30p has held so far, i have added some more here, with a line in the sand below the 200 day ema.
lets see how it goes, beacuse ideally it needs to get back above 36p before the week is out.

Sirius daily.
uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=chartscreenshotsh...lsC5%2F1g2y9FSgHc%3D

Traded these on the way up, and i bought some of these again today at just over 38p.
stop at 33p.

look bullish, with a best case target of 60p+
Resistance at 47p area (if it gets there) may tempt to me to close. ;)

as always, dyor, wdik,
trendfriend :)
